**David Johnson started a new Erasmus program
in Cluj, Romania. During April he traveled to
Transylvania and coached students from the Cluj
Conservatory.

**Valentin Eschmann was selected to perform with
the 2011 YouTube Symphony in Sydney Australia.

**Matthew Berliner of Oberlin College was chosen to perform with the 2011 YouTube Symphony. Matthew studied in Lugano with David Johnson in 2009.

**After winning a seat in the Filharmonica de State in Cluj, Andrei Chimpean is moving to the Bucharest Philharmonic.

**2010 Conservatorio graduate Andrei Chimpean won the audition for the 2nd/4th horn position in the Filharmonica de Stat Transilvania, Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

**Christian Schweitzer will relocate to Beijing, China as the principal horn of a concert band being formed by a private company. Christian is a 2010 graduate of the Conservatorio. He will join 2009 CSI graduate Li Min in the band.

**Paolo Rizzuto, a Conservatorio graduate, won the solo horn position with the Ulster Orchestra in Dublin, Ireland and the Isreal Chamber Orchestra.

**On May 30, David Johnson performed the Strauss Notturno and the Saint Saens Romance at the 1st Singapore Brass Explosion.

**Valentin Eschmann, a student of David Johnson's at
the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana, has won the
International Horn Society's Barry Tuckwell and Jon
Hawkins scholarships for 2010. The prizes include
financial assistance to attend the symposium in Brisbane,
a lesson with an artist of his choice and the opportunity
to perform with the Brisbane Symphony. Valentin is a
native of Germany.
