**After 27 years, David Johnson has left the American Horn Quartet. He will now concentrate on his teaching and the master classes he presents around the world.

**David Johnson appeared as soloist with the National Orchestra
of Malta on October 14. He performed Mozart's 4th Horn
Concerto.

**Kipp Johnson, a 2009 master's program graduate, has a new

**Christian Schweitzer is filling a one-year position in the
symphony orchestra of Biel, Switzerland.

**Conservatorio graduate Li Min will return to a position in Beijing, China.

**Robert Wasik, a student of David Johnson's at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana, was awarded the 2nd and 4th horn position in the Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra, Warsaw, Poland in January 2009.

**Megan McBride won the Basel (Switzerland)
Symphony audition on December 16, 2008 and
successfully passed her probation year. Megan
was a student of David Johnson's in Lugano.

**On 30 November 2008, David Johnson performed the Huebler Concerto in Balsthal, Switzerland. Joining him for the performance were Thomas Mueller (principal horn, Zurich Chamber Orchestra), Andreas Kamber (principal horn, Bern Chamber Orchestra) and Diane Eaton (2nd horn, Basel Symphony Orchestra).

David Johnson performed in the
orchestra accompanying participants
of the Hong Kong International Piano
Competition. In his free time, he gave
lessons and presented a master class
for Joe Kirtley's horn students at the
Hong Kong Academy of Music.
